THE RIGHT METHOD FOR THE RIGHT ECU
TUNING METHODS.
Not every vehicle is accessed in the same way. CHB uses the appropriate method for the ECU, software version and vehicle.
OBD TUNING
Where supported, the ECU can be read and written safely through the vehicle's diagnostic port without removing the ECU.
BENCH TUNING
For supported ECUs requiring direct access, the ECU is connected on the bench using the correct professional interface and procedure.
BOOT MODE
Some ECU types require boot-mode access. This is only used where appropriate for the specific ECU and calibration job.
The method used depends on the vehicle, ECU and software. CHB will confirm the appropriate procedure before work begins.
QUALITY OVER THE CLOCK
HOW LONG DOES A REMAP TAKE?
Most straightforward remaps can be completed in around 90 minutes, but every vehicle is different.
Diagnostics, ECU access, software versions and the tuning method can all affect the time required. We don't rush perfection. We'd rather take the time needed to complete the job properly than put a fixed deadline on your vehicle.

COMMON QUESTIONS.
What's the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2?
Stage 1 is generally intended for suitable standard hardware. Stage 2 normally assumes supporting modifications and must be assessed for the specific vehicle.
Will I get the exact gains shown?
No fixed output is guaranteed. Results vary with ECU/software version, fuel, hardware, gearbox and vehicle condition. Finder figures are indicative.
Do I need to tell my insurer?
A remap is a vehicle modification and should be declared to your insurer.
Can the car be returned to stock?
Where supported, the original file can be retained so the ECU can be returned to its original calibration.
What if my vehicle isn't listed?
